E. Brash, son of Mr. J. Brash, of Eign Villa, The Vineyard, Hereford. Mr. J. Brash received a telegram from the Records Office, Shrewsbury, conveying the sad intelligence that his only son, Sec.-Lieut. Edmund Brash, had died of wounds. The deceased officer joined up as a private in the Herefordshire Regiment, and being transferred to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, saw much active service in France in the ranks. He was then recommended by the C. O. for and obtained a commission in his old regiment, and had been back in France only a comparatively short time before he fell mortally wounded in the glorious advance of the Allies. He was a bright, intelligent, sociable young fellow; he was only 23, with an unassuming, winsome manner, which endeared him to all who knew him. His aged father and family feel the loss keenly. The family came to Hereford from Cockermouth some years ago.
