Dear Old Herefordians,We would be delighted to welcome you back to The Marches on Sunday 8th March for the Marches Centurion 7s, the newly revived and reimagined successor to the historic Marches 7s.For many of you, the Marches 7s will stir vivid memories—brisk early-spring mornings, the buzz around the pitches, the muddy boots, the cheers from teammates and classmates, and the unmistakable pride that came with pulling on school colours. Whether you played, refereed, supported from the sidelines, or simply enjoyed the spectacle, the tournament was always more than just a fixture, it was a highlight of the school 7s calendar, woven into the shared story of our community.This year, as we bring the tournament back to Hereford once again, we hope to honour that legacy while giving today’s pupils the chance to write memories of their own. With teams travelling from across the country, the Centurion 7s promises a day that captures the same energy, passion, and sense of belonging that so many of you will remember.At its heart, the tournament remains guided by the values you helped shape: fairness, respect, opportunity, and the belief that rugby has the power to bring people together. Our aim is to create a level playing field where all young players can thrive, just as generations before them did.We would be delighted to see you return to the touchlines, reconnect with old friends, and share in the spirit of an event that has meant so much to so many.
