The Old Herefordians' Club has now been in existence for over a century and has a membership in excess of 4000. Former pupils of the Cathedral School who leave at the normal age, and whose membership subscription has been fully paid, automatically become Old Herefordian's (OH's)
All members are entitled to wear the Club Colours, made up of the traditional navy blue and yellow of the school interspersed with a diagonal white strip.
SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOL
The Club informs all its members from time to time about matters of common interest concerning the School. It manages its own funds and is run on a not for profit basis. Any excess of income over expenditure is used to further the stated Club objectives. Your OHC could for example launch appeals for the benefit of the School and may apply some of its assets to fund in-school projects.
In fact, OH's will be proud to know that the construction of the new Sports Hall complex, opened in 2009 by Dame Kelly Holmes, DBE was part funded by the Club. The OH Trustees may even provide bursaries, award special prizes or offer help in any other way that they believe will be for the good of all Cathedral School students.
FUTURE MEMBERS
The OHC derives it's main source of revenue from students whose parents pay an annual subscription whilst their child is still at school. It is important therefore that the Club continues to thrive through the support of it's future membership, on whose contributions the Club now largely depends.
